Step 1: Read the Design Brief
Start the process by taking a moment to review the Design Brief and deciding which stream(s) you want to enter.
Stream 1 - The Place: An idea to make a new or existing public space (such as a plaza, street, sidewalk, laneway, parklet, or park) rain-friendly.
Stream 2 - The Intervention: A rain-friendly design feature or element, or seasonal structure that can serve to enhance an existing public space.
Stream 3 - The Celebration: A rain-friendly pop-up activation (e.g. an event or interactive installation) in a public space that will help build a more positive culture of rain-friendly activity, fostering social connections in the rainy months.
Step 2: Register - CLOSED
There is no formal registration deadline for the competition; however, all participants are strongly encouraged to register in advance of the competition deadline

Registered participants will receive a confirmation email within 48 hours of registering, as well as regular updates on the competition (including Q&A updates, reminders about deadlines, and event notifications).

Be sure to review the submission requirements for the stream that you are entering!

Step 4: Submit Your Entry - CLOSED

Submit your entry by 5:00pm (PST) on Monday, April 29, 2019.
Once you’ve completed your design or concept, you can submit it online, using the links and file-upload features for each stream below. You can also submit it by mail or in person (details can be found in the Design Brief).
Be sure to review the Terms and complete one Application Form per entry. (Note: you can only submit one entry per stream).
In order to be considered complete, each entry must contain all the items identified in the Design Brief - including, where relevant, drawing(s), concept statement, supporting materials, and application form.
