Project Details
Our activation proposal uses a series of rain chimes suspended from trees in the space. Achieving a minimalist aesthetic, the steel chimes are thin and unobtrusive. Tied around the branches, these chimes would be strategically placed to create melodic sound from the impact of the wind and rain.
As part of the project, will like to host a community workshop event where folks are invited to customize their own chime with paint and decoration, learning how to tie a chime knot to be installed with the initial chimes. We hope that each customized chime becomes a token for the community to celebrate art, community-building and nature. The chimes would then be installed for rain & wind to play their own tune, inspiring future passerbyers to stop for a bit and try and spot them in the trees.
