Knitted Rain revitalizes the scenic seawalk with a bright and fun canopy that transforms the bridge into a sheltered human-scaled public space. Stitching two prominent seaside trails, Burrard Bridge serves as a covered structure that interweaves a playful installation and a dynamic social space. Knitted Rain abstracts the rain to celebrate Vancouver’s wet weather with an undulating canopy of glowing recycled PVC pipes. By taking a few of these string-like elements and pulling on both ends transforms them into crocheted colorful seats for the public to sit, gather, and play.
Rain is beautiful again.
